        Skills backed up by the confidence to put up a quality fare gave an enhanced spectacle to the Siva-Parvathi dance drama. Students of Sridevi Nrithyalaya came up with a stellar show at the Krishna Gana Sabha recently.

        The age group varied from 7 to 30 years - a good mix of them teachers too - as the motley bunch made a smooth transition from one scene to another.

        Right from the birth of Parvathy to her love towards Lord Siva culminating in marriage, the rhythm was on smooth lines. The highlight was the Sivashakthi dance, all grace and co-ordination.

        Choreographer Sheela Unnikrishnan brought to light the medley of Indian classical dance styles in the Rathi-Manmatha piece.

        Good support emanated from the music of Balabharathy and Kadalmathi (lyrics).
