The mayor of Chennai M Subramanian has said broadening of roads at Kathipara junction in Guindy would be completed in two months, according to a statement from Chennai Corporation.
The mayor reviewed the construction work on Tuesday, the statement added.
The bus routes department of the Corporation had taken up road widening work on the eastern and western sides of the junction at a cost of Rs 82.44, the statement said.
The roads are being widened up to 60 feet.
It added, the mayor also directed Metrowater to complete the laying of sewerage pipelines in Guindy Industrial Estate within three months.
The pipelines are being laid over a distance of 20 kilometers at a cost of Rs seven crore. In the past nine months work has been completed over 11 kilometers, the statement said.
The Corporation quoting the
mayor also said roads were being broadened in Guindy Industrial Estate
and Labour Colony at a cost of Rs two lakh.
