Chennai, Sept 12:
Hardwork and confidence are must for achieving success in life. And speakers at a Bharathiyar memorial function in Triplicane dwelt at length on similar virtues for mankind to cherish the essence of life.
At a one-day meet on Edutha Kariyam Yavinum Vetri organised by Srinivas Youngmen's Association (SYMA) as part of the memorial function at Bharathiyar Illam, the house of the famed poet, State BJP president
L Ganesan said one should have the grit and determination to achieve goals in spite of adversity in life.
'Whatever may come, don't give up the path of progress,' he said and added that optimism was the key to success. Regretting for not making a Bharathiyar memorial day a grand event by the State government, Ganesan recalled through his lyrics and verses, the poet had a foresight on the existence of Ramar Sethu and took up the cause for inter-linking of rivers.
Earlier as part of the celebrations,
SYMA organised oratorical contests for school and college students, besides
dance programmes. Ganesan distributed prizes to the winners of the competitions.
