        A college student who went for a bath in Marina Beach was drowned yesterday.

        Police said, Ahmed Ibrahim (20) of MMDA Colony had gone to Marina along with his friends. When Ibrahim was taking bath, he was pulled deep inside by a tidal wave.

        On hearing the cries for help, his friends tried to pull him out from the water but their efforts went in vain. They immediately alerted the fire and rescue officials who rescued him to the shore. However, he was declared brought dead at government Royapettah hospital.
