'Quick and comprehensive action in providing first aid service to the accident victims is essential', said Dr Girish, Vice District Governor, Lions Club 324 A5.
Delivering a lecture on 'Accident golden hour awareness campaign' jointly organised by the Accident and Death Care Cell and Chennai City Traffic Police here recently, he said 'many victims remain unattended for a long time without medical aid and die due to lack of instant care.'
Emphasising the need for golden hour treatment, he urged the students to develop responsibility in their minds and not to ignore the victims if they come across any accidents. 'Inform the nearby ambulance service and at once take them to the hospital', he added.
He further said that the students were the vulnerable group for fatal accidents as they drive aggressively. He also stressed on the need for usage of helmets to avoid major head injuries.
