        Four persons were killed and as many were injured when their SUV hit a lorry at Olakkur, near here, following a tyre-burst.

        According to police, eight persons from Secunderabad were returning from Sabarimala in a Qualis and when they reached Tindivanam High Road at Olakkur village, one of its tyres burst and the driver lost control. The SUV rammed into the back of a lorry.

        Among the eight, four died on the spot and the rest were rushed to a hospital in Chennai.

        Olakkur police had filed a case and further investigations  are on.
