        T Nagar AIADMK MLA V P Kalairajan today filed a petition in court to take necessary action against policemen who had attacked him on the day of civic polls.

        In his plea to the Egmore Judicial Magistrate Court, Kalairajan said the policemen on duty in the Karnataka Sangh School booth on the civic poll day had attacked him when he tried to stop bogus voting and other malpractices.

        Stating that no action had been taken against them even though he had filed a complaint with the City Police Commissioner, Kalairajan called for immediate action against the policemen.

        Magistrate Boothanathan who accepted the petition had adjourned the case to 25 January.
