Nichi-In Center for Regenerative Medicine (NCRM) here signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Faculty of Medicine, Yamanashi University, Japan, for exchange of technology in regenerative medicine, technically skilled personnel and joint research projects between Indian and Japan recently.
NCRM is a Indo-Japanese venture institute, started in 2005, for conducting research on stem cells, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, liver diseases, spinal cord injuries and critical limb ischemia. The pact was inked by professor Shuichiro Maeda from Yamanashi University, Japan, and Dr Samuel J K Abraham from NCRM.
A batch of medical students
from Yamanashi University would be visiting NCRM in August 2007.

Three national-level technical symposiums were orgainsed by the R M K Engineering College on its campus recently.
The departments of electronic and instrumentation engineering, computer science engineering and mechanical engineering organised these symposium, which served as a platform for students to discuss the technical aspects of electronics and instrumentation, medical instrumentation, mechanical engineering, embedded systems and programmable logic controller. As many as 120 students from 69 engineering colleges participated.

Saravanan from Ashok Leyland and Jayaram from TVS Sundaram Fasteners were
present for the symposiums.

Telecom service provider, Tata Teleservices Ltd has announced a new roaming intensive tariff plan titled 'business gold plan' for customers who have high roaming usage.
According to a press release, the new plan with a monthly rental of Rs 349, the customers will get monthly 500 minutes of free incoming calls while roaming.
Both the roaming out going charges and local charges would be 10 paise for Tata-to-Tata calls and 50 paise for outside network calls. Also, SMS are at a very low rate of 50 paise for local and national alike.
The new plan also includes
value added services like CLIP, call wait and call forward at free of cost.
Over 50 women from various SHGs and NGOs are attending a three-day workshop on empowering self help group women through community radio at the College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University.
The workshop is organised by the Department of Media Sciences, Anna University. Executive director of Tamilnadu Science and Technology Centre Iyam Perumal inaugurated the workshop yesterday.
Through the workshop, each
participant will be able to run a one-hour show in the community radio.
Experts who have intensive knowledge in the field of community radio are
sharing their expertise with the participants. Executive trustee of Nalamdana
Nithya Balaji and former director of AIR S Venugopal Reddy were present
at the inaugural session, a press release said.
