        MDMK member Gnanadoss today said the State government should pay more attention to the basic needs of villages in the State.

        He made this appeal in the Assembly during the demand for grants for Local Administration Department.

        Gnanadoss said Namakkal municipality should be taken as a role model for its best administration as it was bestowed with ISO 4001 certification. Other municipalities should follow suit, he told.

        The government should concentrate on providing basic amenities such as roads, drinking water and health in the villages.
