Sir,
The series of articles by V Sundaram on 'Violation of HR - Need for a Hindu nation' are precise, penetrating, pungent, poignant and portray the pitiable predicament of of the present Hindu society. As he rightly points out, we have not got real freedom in the truest sense but continue to be under the harmful and hideous influence of the pagan cultures of the western world. It is not only due to the malafide intentions of external villains like Macaulay but our own shameless countrymen also have contributed to destroy our Sanathana Dharma, the chief among them being, Raja Ram Mohun Roy. Unfortunately this gentleman is being erroneously portrayed in all textbooks as a great reformer, thinker and a reviver of our culture, whereas in reality he had the temerity, impertinence and foolhardiness to consider himself as a great thinker and venture upon attempts to tamper with our tradition and customs. This intellectual Mir Jaffar has brazenly surrendered at the dirty feet of Macaulay, pleading with him to introduce western education and English language in our country.
It is most unfortunate that this Ram Mohun Roy gets encomium from persons like Rabindranath Tagore in the following words:
'Towering above his contemporaries, solitary and majestic, this extraordinary genius seems to have measured accurately the force of every new current as it flowed quickly past, and to have steered his own course with an almost unerring precision. As practical as Macaulay, he was no mere opportunist. He was a true prophet and had the prophet's sacred fire of enthusiasm. On the literary side he was one of the most ardent promoters of the new Western learning, and eagerly helped forward Macaulay's programme.'
It is high time that we extricate ourselves from the Maya of western education and culture, realise the true greatness of our own Sanathana Dharma and start taking corrective steps so that at least the future citizens are led in the right path.

Sir,
CPI(M) leader Prakash Karat seems to be confused and confusing all others. The UPA on its part has made it very clear and Manmohan Singh is very clear that the nuclear deal will be through at any cost.
The BJP which has a practice of stalling both the House is trying to fish in troubled waters unsuccessfully. China which according to our Left comrades is the birth place of Communism has signed the deal with a lot of conditions and with less benefits.
Karat is harping on the fact that Manmohan has surrendered to the US. What is Karat's solution to this. Can he suggest a nuclear deal with Russia? Left is playing a game in which they will only be the losers.
The Left says they are taking it to the streets and will involve the people in the country. People are equally intelligent and they know the gimmicks of the Left parties who are struggling to rule in WB and Kerala even for petty local issues.
