The pull and the draw

        A Apshara, a class nine student of Velammal School, Mogappair, and fencing champion, put up a brilliant show of skill, by which she made an maiden attempt to enter into the Limca Book of Records.

        With her teeth power, Apshara pulled a Mahindra van weighing around two tonnes, for about 15 metres. She also dragged three Maruti vans, weighing more than 3,200 kilograms for the same distance, besides a spectacular performance of shoving a van backward with the mere support of a rod on the chin.

        Putting up another display of her teeth power, she twisted iron rods measuring six inches, eight inches and 12 inches in quick succession. Obstetrician and gynaecologist of

        G G Hospital Dr Kamala Selvaraj was the chief guest of the function and she witnessed the show.

        Patting Apshara for her brilliant attempt, Dr Kamala said that every child should be given opportunity to showcase their inner talent, and it must be groomed subsequently.

        Speaking to News Today, Apshara said that with the help of P Devaraj, who is her relative, she had undergone rigorous training in the evenings for it for the last three years.

        On her next attempt, Apshara said she plans to pull a locomotive engine with her teeth. Besides others, principal P Prabakaran and correspondent M V M Velmohan had witnessed the attempt and wished her all the best.
