Chennai, Mar 8:
The AIADMK has planned to undertake a token fast in Tirupur condemning the action of the Tirupur Municipality in cancelling undemocratically the tender contract during her party rule for the projects of new commercial complex at Kamaraj Salai and another one near Eswaran temple.
In a statement here, Jayalalithaa, the party supremo, said the then AIADMK government through Tirupur municipality on 4 August 2006 had given the work to contractors on two commercial complexes at an estimated cost of Rs 4 crores but it had been cancelled by the present municipality and the present government wishes to remain a silent spectator.
Hence, to condemn this undemocratic
action the AIADMK had decided to observe the token fast, led by the party
organising secretary S Muthusamy.
