The United CA team snapped after the victory in the under-11 tourney in Chennai recently.

        United CA edged out Little Hearts CA by one wicket to win the under-11 cricket tournament for the AVM-CCF Arcot Road Times trophy, organised by AVM-Childrens Cricket Foundation here recently.

        Batting first, Little Hearts CA were restricted to 121 for 6 in 25 overs despite knocks of 34 by V Vishal and 33 by Ashwanth. In reply, United CA struggled to reach the target, losing nine wickets in the process.

        Dr Sujit Kumar Sahu of Vijaya Hospital was the chief guest for the valedictory. A Muthukrishnan, headmaster, Avichi HSS, presided while Balaji Singh of Ramachandra Hospital was the guest of honour. The following awards were presented — Best all-rounder: Vishal; Best batsman: P Karthik (AVM-CCF); Best bowler: N Sathink (United CA). Promising players: N Sundar (AVM-CCF), C Aravindan, A Jerome (United CA), Aswath (LHCA), Kishore Srinivas (LHCA), Sanjay and Swaraj (AVM-CCF).

        Brief scores (final): Little Hearts CA 121 for 6 in 25 overs (V Vishal 34, Ashwanth 33, Kishore Srinivas 29, L Aravind 3 for 4) lost to United CA 122 for 9 in 24 overs (C Aravindan 35, A Jerome 24).
