New team for woman panel

        Former State Minister Indira Kumari has been appointed as chairperson of Tamilnadu State Women's Commission.

        According to an official press release here yesterday, Chief Minister M Karunanidhi has also appointed MLAs P Kamalambal and K Gayathri Devi, bureaucrat Qudsia Gandhi, Superintendent of Police V Vanitha, Queen Mary's College principal Queen Pinto and advocate Sangamitra and R Alice Manohari, among others, as members of the Commission.

        The Secretary Social Welfare Department has been appointed as ex-officio member and Director of Social Welfare as member-secretary of the Commission.
