NT Bureau
Chennai, July 7:

'By sheer discipline, perseverance and determination can one achieve great heights and students should imbibe these qualities to be successful in life,' said Ravi Raghavendar, senior vice-president and regional head of Yes Bank Ltd.

He was speaking at the annual prize distribution function of Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan Senior Secondary School, Nungambakkam, to felicitate outgoing students of standard 10 and 12 for their achievement in academic and extracurricular activities. He later gave away the trophies and awards to the meritorious students.

He upheld the need to maintain discipline in all their endeavors through out life which, according to him, would help them build character and lead to a successful life. He urged students to believe in themselves.

Emphasising the stellar role of parents in moulding character and shaping children, he said parents should understand the talent of their wards and encourage them. They should keep meeting the teachers and understand the potential of their children for improving and encouraging their hidden talent, he added.

Stressing that every course has its own importance, he pointed the need to come out of the shell to look beyond engineering courses. Every student coming out of school is aspiring to become a engineer but every course has its own importance and plenty of opportunities which they should cash in on.

Ravi said the students of PSSBB were respected everywhere because of the moral values that are taught here. Recollecting his education at school, he said the school has grown leaps and bounds due to the enduring effort to improve the education- level and the moral value that it has to be inculcated in the students. He urged the students to carry forward the values to take the glory of school to greater heights.

Dean and director of PSBB Y G Parthasarathy, principal Valli Arunachallam, vice-principal Shella Rajendra, Academic Administrator and Co- ordinator K S Vijayalakshmi were present at the function.
