The Indian Fine Arts Society conferred the title 'Natya Kalasikhamani' on danseuse Revathy Ramachandran at the 74th South Indian Music Conference and Festival here yesterday.
Padmasri Adyar K Lakshman presented a shawl and a citation to Revathy for her excellence in Bharatnatyam.
'Revathy is a versatile choreographer and her talent has been discovered by her guru Mangudi Dorairaja Iyer', Lakshman said. Founder of Shree Bharathalaya, Sudharani Raghupathy said
'Revathy deserves the title because she is a hard worker and balances both family and dance'.
Revathy is founder of Kala Sadhanalaya, a dance school. Her foray into dance was further enriched by her training in Nattuvangam, Veena and in Kuchipudi.
In her acceptance speech, Revathy attributed her success to her family members and guru Mangudi Dorairaja Iyer.
