        Two men cheated a woman of 10 sovereigns of jewels by posing themselves as jewel polishers in suburban Kottivakkam last evening.

        According to police, Selvi (40), wife of Arjunan, was alone when two youth saying they would polish her silver and gold ornaments got her anklets off initially to polish and then sprayed some chemicals on her face. She swooned and was relieved her of five sovereign chain. Then the duo took away jewels and other items from her almirah. When the woman regained consciousness after an hour, she realised she was duped and sent a message to her husband. Following this, a complaint was lodged with Neelangarai police. A case was registered and investigations were on.
