Three cases against Minister dismissed

        Three cases filed against Higher Education Minister K Ponmudy during the previous AIADMK regime were dismissed yesterday by Villupuram Judicial Magistrate.

        The cases related to Ponumudy's unauthorised entry into TNCSC godown on 26 June, 2001 and inspecting the spoilt rice stocked on the premises, damaging the digital banner put up to welcome former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa to Villupuram in 2003 and instigating his supporters to prevent the police from discharging their duties while arresting him.

        All the three cases were pending at the Villupuram Judiciail Magistrate court. Following change of government, the cases were withdrawn by the respective parties.

        Hence, the Judicial Magistrate Vijayakanth dismissed the cases.
