AVM Childrens Cricket Foundation defeated Salem district XI in the final to win the AVM-RT Parthasarathy cricket tournament held at Salem recently.
Apart from AVM-CCF and Salem team, two outfits from Bangalore participated in the tournament, a press release here said.
In the final, Harikrishna stood out for AVM-CCF with an all-round display while Venkatapathy grabbed five wickets for the losers.
The following awards were given: Best all-rounder - Harikrishna; Best bowler: C A Avinash (AVM-CCF); Best batsma - Prabhu (Salem).
Scores: Final: AVM-CCF 135 in 24.3 overs (Harikrishna 47, Vignesh 35, Venkatapathy 5 for 11) beat Salem 131 for 9 in 25 overs (Vikram 26).
Earlier scores: Salem District 114 for 7 in 30 overs (Prabhu 27, Venkatapathy 28, C A Avinash 4 for 26) lost to AVM-CCF 115 for 5 in 21.2 overs (Manikandan 35, Govindarajan 26 n.o).
