Principal Secretary to Governor C K Gariyali inaugurating the new branch of Union Bank of India at Tiruvanmiyur on Tuesday. Also seen are field general manager R Vishwanathan and deputy general manager M R Bhalla.

        It has been expansion all the way for Union Bank of India in 2007. The bank has opened two more Core Banking Solution (CBS) branches in the city.

        Principal Secretary to Governor C K Gariyali declared open the new branch and ATM facility at Tiruvanmiyur in the presence of field general manager, south zone R Vishwanathan and deputy general manager, nodal regional office, M R Bhalla.

        Porur branch was inaugurated by field general manager R Vishwanathan at a function held at the bank premises.

        With this, the total number of branches in Chennai region has gone up to 56 . The total number of new branches opened on a single day was 23 in the south and 50 across the country. Added to this, the bank opened 493 ATMs across the country. Of which 62 ATMs are in south. The total number of ATMs in Chennai region has increased to 32.
