        The need for extending Employees State Insurance (ESI) scheme to new areas and sectors was emphasised by Labour and Employment secretary Ramesh Kumar Khanna. He said this after inaugurating a website www.esichennai.org for the Employees State Insurance Corporation, Regional Office, Chennai, recently. He also mentioned the necessity to computerise all dispensaries in the State.

        According to a press release, the website has interactive facility for registering grievances, queries and replies would be posted within 72 hours. General information about ESI is also available. Additional Commissioner and Regional Director S Thomas was among those present at the inaugural function.
