Tuticorin Port Trust has created a new record by discharging 7,800 tonnes of urea at VOC Berth No III from the vessel M V Heng Shun on 30 June.
According to a press release issued by Tuticorin Port Trust Chairman N K Raghupathy, this is the highest volume of urea discharged in a single day by the port.
The previous unloading record of urea was 6,125 tonnes on 12 June from the vessel M V Tzarevetz.
The steamer agent and stevedores for the vessel are J M Baxi and Co, Tuticorin and Aspinwall and Co, Tuticorin respectively.
The cargo is imported by
Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited.
