IAS officials transferred

        The Tamilnadu government has transferred some of its IAS officers in the State yesterday. The government also decided to merge the departments of Prohibition and Excise with the Home department and made S Malathy as the Secretary of the merged department, an official press release said.

        The government also clubbed Tamil Development and Religious Endowments department with Information and made D Rajendran, Chairman, Tamilnadu Handicrafts Development Corporation as its secretary.

        V Iraianbu, Secretary, Information and Tourism, was made Secretary of the newly formed Tourism and Culture department

        S K Prabakar, Secretary, Prohibition and Excise department, which had been merged with Home department, is the new managing director of Tamilnadu Investment Corporation.

        R Karpoorasundarapandiyan, Secretary, Tamil Development and Religious Endowments, which had been merged with the Information department, is the new Special Commissioner for Rehabilitation.

        S Vijayakumar, Project Implementation Officer, Rural Development, is the new director of Fisheries.

        Rajendra Ratnoo, Additional director, Rural development, will replace Gagandeep Singh Bedi as the Cuddalore district collector. Bedi had been posted as Director of Rural Development in place of Dr J Radhakrishnan, who is made additional secretary, Finance.

        Chandra Prakash Singh, Textiles secretary, would take over as the Transport Commissioner replacing R Sivakumar, who is made the director of Technical Education.

        R Rajagopal, Director of Technical Education has been transferred as Environment and Forest secretary, replacing Viswanath A Shegaonkar, who will be the new Textiles secretary.

        A Sukumaran, Chief Executive Officer, Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority, becomes the new Labour Commissioner in place of Dr V Varaprasada Rao, who has been posted as the Commissioner of Land Reforms.
