        The wife of a CRPF personnel hanged herself to death at Avadi, apparently upset at the frequent domestic quarrels.

        Saina Kumari, 22, from Bargur, was married to CRPF constable Arumugam, 38, who was posted at Avadi Cantonment. On New Year day, a quarrel broke out between the couple during which Arumugam reportedly scolded her with harsh words.

        A dejected Saina Kumari took the extreme step of hanging from the ceiling fan yesterday after her mother in-law left the house for sometime.

        Finding Saina hanging from the ceiling, she immediately informed her son who was on duty and Arumugam in turn alerted the police on the suicide. Inspector at Avadi Tank Factory Kumaran registered a case in this regard and sent the body for postmortem at Kilpauk Government Hospital.

        As the marriage of the couple took place three months ago, an RDO enquiry was ordered.
