Karuna's hypocrisy!

        Sir.

This is with reference to the speech made by the Chief Minister Karunanidhi at the inauguration of Periyar Maniammai University. No one has said that Karunanidhi is an enemy of Ram, because, he doesn't fulfill that criteria.

He himself has assumed that he is an enemy of Rama and exposed his lack of knowledge in History and Religion by making insensitive statements against the Lord. He has also exposed his evil credentials and uncivilised behavior and immoral mindset.

While speaking at the inauguration of the Periyar Maniammai University, he has stabbed his mentor Periyar himself at the back by saying, 'I am not enemy of Ram'.

Periyar was a staunch atheist and he came in to limelight only by his 'anti-Ram' machinations. Having claimed himself as a disciple and a strict follower of Periyar's ideologies, Karuna must maintain his anti-Ram stand. But, by changing his stand in the aftermath of nationwide agitations for want of votes and by saying that he is not an enemy of Lord Ram, he has proved that, he is a number one hypocrite. The same tongue, which said, 'Rama is a myth' has twisted 360 degrees and said, 'I am not enemy of Rama'. Now, it is clearly evident that he has cheated both the 'believers' & the 'non-believers', or rather, the 'Tamils' & the 'Dravidians'. He is the ultimate loser, which is a fact he will learn very soon!

Victory for democracy

        Sir,

The verdict of the Supreme Court to grant a stay on the proposed Bandh by the State government is a welcome decision and an eye-opener for other ruling parties in the country not to propose for a Bandh.

The governments should concentrate on the productivity of the Nation and should not indulge in these activities, which causes hardship to the common man. With respect to the proposed TN Bandh, it is the ruling party which is a main constituent in the Central government and T R Baalu, who is the Union Minister in-charge of the Sethusamudram Project has to hasten the project.

Instead of acting on the democratic way earlier (as announced by the DMK party now—hunger strike at the District headquarters), it is a shame the DMK party and its' allies/ TN government had to call for a Bandh to paralyse the normal life in Tamilnadu.

        M V Mukundhan, Nanganallur
