Science meet for Corpn students

        A three-day programme titled 'An insight into the world of science' for the students of Corporation schools will be conducted by Science City from 3 October.

        According to a press release, the objective of the programme is to motivate and inspire students on the excitement and challenges in the various fields of Science and technology, to expose them to various renowned scientists working in the field, to encourage them to think and analyze issues independently and to encourage their imagination and creative expressions.

        Students studying in IX standard only can participate in the programme. They would be provided books, notebooks and pen. Three winners will be selected from each competition and prizes and certificates will be given. Participants will be provided with participation certificate.

Medical camp for elderly persons

        A medical camp for senior citizens will be conducted by Probus Club at concessional rates from 2 to 31 October except on Saturdays and Sundays.

        According to a press release, all senior citizens who are 50 and above are eligible for the check up. They have to register their name by paying Rs 50. The check up will be done at 203, Kutchery Road, Opposite to the Mylapore Police station. For details contact phone number: 4206 4051.

Tips on how to retain customers

        A one-day workshop on 'Lifetime value of customers' organised by The Counselltant will be conducted at Kilpuak in Chennai on 13 October, between 9.30 am to 5.30 pm.

        According to a press release, the workshop would deal with handling complaints and retaining customers.

        The course fee per participant is Rs 1,950. The fees are inclusive of the course, course material, lunch and refreshments.

Business meet 12 October

        Indira Gandhi Center for Atomic Research (IGCAR) will be organising a one-day business meet (AIM 2007) at Kalpakkam on 12 October.

        According to a press release, the meet will focus on reinforcing the existing collaborations and identifying new partners in enabling India to become a global leader in Sodium Cooled Fast Breeder Reactor and associated fuel cycle technologies by 2020 AD.

        Registrations should be made in the prescribed format and should be sent to the convenor on or before 3 October.
