        Mainetti India has opened a new manufacturing unit at Sriperumbudur recently. The Rs 35 crore facility is spread across a built up area of 29,000 sq ft over nine acres of land. The largest amongst all the manufacturing units of Mainetti India this facility will support the market expansion plan of the group for India market. The facility houses a world class distribution centre for its products as well as stocked hanger library displaying the product ranges. It also incorporates a water recycling plant within the premises. Speaking on the occasion, Sanjeev Kumar, regional managing director said, 'we are delighted to expand our horizon in India. The new facility is the largest of all the units in India with 50 per cent increase in designing and warehousing of hangers as compared to the present records.'

        Bank of Baroda (BoB) has opened its second branch at Arusha in Tanzania recently. Anil K Khandelwal, chairman and managing director, Bank of Baroda inaugurated the branch in the presence of A Ndomba, Arusha Regional Commissioner. During the inauguration, an innovative product—Baroda Shule Account exclusively for students was also launched by the CMD. Later he presented Baroda Shule Kit to the students who opened accounts under this scheme. V Santhanaraman, executive director, Bank of Baroda and chairman of Bank of Baroda (Tanzania) Ltd welcomed the guests and highlighted the salient features of the international operations.

        Godrej Appliances has come out with an hi-tech washing machine with DAC technology. The Dynamic Aqua-Power Control (DAC) technology can sense and adjust to water and power cuts by monitoring the flow of water and power into the washing machine and set the machine accordingly.
