Madhani acquitted, Basha found guilty

Marking an end to the anxious nine-year wait for justice, a Special Court here today began pronoucing its verdict on the 1998 serial blasts. In a relief to Abdul Nasser Madhani, Chairman of Kerala-based PDP, the special court for bomb blast cases  exonerated him of all charges,including conspiracy to trigger serial blasts in Coimbatore on 14 February, 1998. 

Delayed EMUs send public on the warpath

Thousands of passengers, irked by the delay in suburban train service, squatted on the tracks this morning at Avadi and Korattur. The train services were disrupted for over six hours. 

Bonded labourers rescued

In a surprise raid by revenue and police officers, 27 bonded labourers were rescued from a rice mill near Madurantakam yesterday. Mill owner and his son were being interrogated further.

CPI-M to protest against State
